PORT ISAAC GALLERY

The tiny haven of Port Issac, nestling in a break in the rugged coastline between Padstow and Tintagel is one of the most picturesque of Cornwall's many fishing villages. Among the steep streets and narrow passageways lined with slate-hung white-painted cottages is precipitous Church Hill which leads down to the harbour with its boats, nets and lobster pots.

Port Isaac was the location for the television series ‘Poldark’ and more recently ‘Doc Martin’. From the Middle ages until the middle of the 19th century, Port Isaac was a busy port, handling various imports and exports, including stone, coal, timber and pottery. After the advent of the railways, it became principally a fishing port. Stream runs through the village, finding its way into the sea over the harbour wall.
